Our friends down under are getting ready for a big celebration tomorrow. On Thursday the 26th January it’s Australia Day, a national holiday when Aussies celebrate all that is great about their land and culture. There are loads of cool Australia Day events, such as ceremonies and music festivals, going on across the globe.
Australia is a big country with an amazing history and culture, and we’re not just talking about Neighbours and Men at Work! If you’d like to join and celebrate all things Australian but there’s nothing going on in your local area then do not fret. Why not host your own Australia Day theme party?
We’ve got some fabulous Aussietastic party supplies in our Australia Party Theme shop. So you can easily browse through all the brilliant party supplies, we’ve divided them up into the following handy sections:
Australian Party Decorations: there are some amazing goodies in here, from Australian Flags to Australian Street Sign Cutouts.
Australian Scene Setters: instantly transform your party venue into a scene from down under.
Australian Party Accessories: some fantastic extras to give your party that little extra pizzaz, including fab Inflatable Kangaroos and an Alligator Pinata.
Australian Fancy Dress and Costume Accessories: no Aussie party would be complete without the iconic Australian Cork Hats.
Why not also take the Australia theme into your party food and drink? I know it’s not traditional barbie season, but as long as it’s not actually pouring with rain then why not wrap up warm and head outdoors for a winter BBQ? Or keep it really simple with some vegemite sandwiches! As for the drinks, some ice cold Aussie beers are a definite must. If wine is your tipple then you’re in luck, because Australia produces some of the best quality vino in the world.
Finally, lay on some Aussie tunes for your guests to get down and boogie. You could make up a playlist with songs from the likes of INXS, AC/DC, Kylie Minogue, Wolfmother, The Vines and of course Men at Work. Or, if you can get your hands on a didgeridoo, then let your guests make their own music!
