Sunday night saw the return of the televisual wonder that is The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) to our screens. The gang is all back together, albeit with some notable exceptions, including Essex’s very own romeo, Mark Wright. Mark waved goodbye to the show at the end of last season, when he headed off to seek fame and fortune in the jungle for I’m A Celebrity.
TOWIE favourite and best friend of the now absent Mark, James “Arg” Argent chose to stick with the show for series 4. However, from the looks of the goings on in the very first episode, he might not be in for the best of times this series. It would appear that Arg’s relationship with on-off girlfriend Lydia Bright is on the rocks again. Vintage fashion fan Lydia, was seen celebrating her 21st birthday on Sunday’s episode, took time out from the birthday fun to confide in friend Lauren Goodger about problems in her relationship. A tearful Arg was also seen being consoled by Lydia’s Mum, who advised the heartbroken Arg his lady love some space.
Advice Arg apparently decided to completely ignore when he turned up uninvited to Lydia’s girly 21st birthday party, angering Lydia’s friends and reducing the birthday girl to tears. It seems like the unfortunate Arg may have finally taken the hint now though, promising not to pester Lydia any more from here on out. So, what has the future got in store for these star crossed lovers? I guess we’ll just need to keep watching series 4 of TOWIE to find out.
